The controller is the body that decides why and how personal data are processed. If you have questions about data protection, or wish to exercise any of your rights, write to the address above.
This policy explains which personal data we process when you visit laser-store24.de, why we do so, and what rights you have in that respect.
Personal data means any information relating to you as an identified or identifiable person — your name, your address, your e-mail address or the IP address of your connection, for instance.
We process your data only where the law permits it or where you have given your consent. This policy does not extend to websites we link to; those are governed by the policies of their own operators.
Every processing operation requires a legal basis. For each operation described below we state which one applies. The following may be relevant:
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You have expressly agreed to the processing, for example through the consent banner shown when you open the site. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
Contract or pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The processing is necessary to perform a contract with you, or to take steps at your request before entering into one.
Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). A statute requires us to process the data — commercial and tax retention duties, for instance.
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We have a legitimate interest in the processing which is not overridden by your interests. Where we rely on this, we say what that interest is.
Where information is stored on or read from your device although it is not strictly necessary for the site to work, we additionally obtain your consent under section 25(1) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).
For our server to send you a page, it has to know where to send it. Your browser therefore transmits a small set of technical details with every request, which our server logs for a short time. This cannot be switched off — without those details there would be no connection.
Three things are involved:
We use this to deliver the site, keep it stable, and detect and repel attacks on our server. That is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We do not combine this information with other data and draw no conclusions about you as a person.
Log files are deleted after 30 days at the latest. Where an individual entry indicates an attack, we keep it until the matter is resolved.
Nothing passes between your device and our server in the clear. We use transport encryption to the TLS standard, and we use it across the whole site rather than on form pages alone. Anyone intercepting the traffic in transit — on an open wireless network, say — sees encrypted packets rather than their contents.
This is a security measure under Art. 32 GDPR and protects the route the data take. It says nothing about what happens to your data once they reach our server; that is what the rest of this policy is for.
Your browser will show you whether the encryption is in force. Where it shows it depends on the program — usually an icon in the address bar whose meaning you can call up with a click.
This website does not run on our own equipment. It is hosted by:

The servers are located in Switzerland, for which the European Commission has found an adequate level of data protection (Art. 45 GDPR). The provider processes the data arising when the site is opened solely on our behalf and on our instructions. We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider under Art. 28 GDPR.
The basis is our legitimate interest in operating the site securely and reliably, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Cookies are small files a website places on your device and reads again when you return. Other browser storage techniques, such as local storage, work in a comparable way. We distinguish two cases.
Strictly necessary cookies. Without these the site does not work. They include the cookie that records your choice in the consent banner, so that we need not ask you again on every visit, and cookies required for secure transmission. Equally necessary is storing settings you choose yourself — a larger font or higher contrast in the accessibility panel, for example; they remain in your browser's local storage and are not transmitted to us. We set these without your consent under section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG; the subsequent processing rests on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
All other cookies. Cookies that are not strictly necessary — for audience measurement or embedded third-party content, for example — are set only after you have agreed through the consent banner. The bases are section 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
You can change your decision at any time. Open the consent banner again, or delete this site's cookies in your browser and you will be asked afresh on your next visit. You can also restrict or refuse cookies in your browser settings from the outset — in that case parts of this site may not be usable.
The typefaces on this site are loaded through our hosting provider's delivery network (cdn1.site-media.eu). The provider acts solely on our behalf; a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place.
No connection is made to Google or to any other font supplier, and your IP address is not transmitted to third parties.
The basis is our legitimate interest in presenting the site consistently and quickly, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Our contact form lets you reach us directly. In using it you send us: your company, your name, your telephone number, your e-mail address and your message. Mandatory fields are marked; without them we cannot deal with your enquiry. We also record the time of submission and the IP address, so that misuse of the form can be traced.
We use these details solely to answer your enquiry and to conduct the correspondence arising from it. Where the matter concerns entering into or performing a contract, the basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; for all other enquiries we rely on our legitimate interest in replying, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
We delete your enquiry six months after it has been dealt with — that is, once the matter is evidently closed and no statutory retention duty applies. Where a contract results, the periods in the retention section apply.
So that our contact form is not flooded with advertising by automated programs, we ask you to type the characters shown in a small image before sending. The image is generated by our hosting provider's server; no connection to third parties is made. Only the details that arise anyway when the page is opened, and your entry in the puzzle field, are processed for this purpose.
The basis is our legitimate interest in a working contact channel protected against misuse, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, we store your details including the connection data in order to deal with your request. The basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where a contract is concerned, and otherwise our legitimate interest in dealing with the matter under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
The circle of people who see the matter stays limited to those who contribute to dealing with it. It goes further only where that is part of resolving your request — to a tradesperson whose quotation you asked for, for instance. Once the matter is settled and no retention duty applies, we delete it.
One note on e-mail: unencrypted messages can be read by third parties in transit. If you wish to send us confidential information, tell us and we will agree a secure route.
Our online shop runs on software supplied by Ecwid (Ecwid, Inc., a company of Lightspeed Commerce Inc.), 700 Saint-Antoine Est, Suite 300, Montréal, Québec H2Y 1A6, Canada. The provider processes the resulting data on our behalf; a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place.
When you place an order we process your name, your billing and delivery address, your e-mail address, the items ordered and the payment method you choose. We need these details to perform the contract of sale, dispatch the goods and issue the invoice — the basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
We pass your details to the carrier so far as delivery requires, to the payment service you select, and to our tax advisers. Invoices and accounting vouchers are retained for eight years (section 147(3) German Fiscal Code); during that time processing is restricted to retention.
The basket is held in a cookie necessary for the shop to work. No consent is required for it (section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
We work with the following providers to process payments: PayPal (PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22–24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg).
If you choose one of these methods, we pass on the details required — name, address, amount, order number and contact details for queries — to the provider concerned. The basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, since the disclosure is necessary to perform the contract.
Your full payment details, such as your card number or your credentials for the payment service, are entered directly with the provider. We neither receive nor store them. The provider's own privacy policy governs its processing; to that extent the provider is itself a controller.
If you agree via the consent banner, we use the statistics function of our website system to record how our site is used. Technically this is the open-source software Matomo, operated by WebPros International GmbH (Sitejet), Vordergasse 59, 8200 Schaffhausen, Switzerland, via the server page-stats.de. The provider acts on our behalf.
We record the pages viewed, the time and length of the visit, the page that referred you to us, and details of your browser, operating system and screen size. Your IP address is processed for this purpose. So that several page views can be assigned to the same visit, Matomo stores cookies on your device that remain for up to 13 months. This gives us statistics — which pages are read and which are not — but not who you are.
The statistics only run with your consent. The basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Without consent the statistics are not loaded and no cookie is set for them. You can withdraw your consent at any time by changing your choice in the consent banner; you can also delete the cookies in your browser.
We want to know which of our pages are read and where visitors leave, so that we can improve what we offer. For that we use Google Analytics, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
The service places cookies on your device and records, among other things, which pages you open, how long you stay, which page you came from, what device and browser you use and roughly which region you connect from. Your IP address is truncated before it is stored. To recognise you across visits the service assigns an identifier; we cannot derive your name from it, but it remains personal data. If you are signed in to a Google account, Google can link the usage to that account.
A transfer to the United States takes place. We rely on the certification of Google LLC under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has found an adequate level of protection (Art. 45 GDPR), and additionally on standard contractual clauses under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR. For the measurement services we have concluded a data processing agreement with Google under Art. 28 GDPR; beyond those, Google also processes data for its own purposes and is a controller in its own right in that respect.
Measurement runs only where you have agreed through the consent banner. The bases are Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 25(1) TDDDG. You may withdraw consent at any time by changing your choice in the banner. The data collected are deleted after 14 months at the latest.
We advertise using Google Ads, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. If you reach this site through one of our advertisements, Google sets a cookie which allows us to see whether the click later led to an enquiry or an order.
This tells us how many people took a particular action after clicking — not who they were. We ourselves cannot infer who you are from these figures; Google can link the usage to information from your account if you are signed in there. A transfer to the United States takes place. We rely on the certification of Google LLC under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has found an adequate level of protection (Art. 45 GDPR), and additionally on standard contractual clauses under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR.

Some of the services embedded in this site are operated by companies established outside the European Union, or transfer data there. Those countries do not offer the same level of protection as the EU: public authorities may be able to access data, and your rights may not be enforceable there in the same way.

We keep personal data only for as long as the purpose requires. After that we delete them unless a retention duty stands in the way.
Commercial and tax law require us to retain certain records (section 257 German Commercial Code, section 147 German Fiscal Code):
The period runs from the end of the calendar year in which the matter was concluded. While it runs, processing of the data concerned is restricted: we retain them but make no further use of them.
Where a shorter or different period applies to a particular operation, we say so at that point.
You have the following rights against us. You may exercise them informally — a message to info@laser-store24.de is enough, and you need give no reasons.
Access (Art. 15 GDPR). You may find out whether we process data about you, what those data are, where they came from, what we use them for, how long we keep them and to whom we disclose them. On request you will receive a copy.
Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR). If data about you are inaccurate, we must correct them. If they are incomplete, we must complete them.
Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR). You may require us to delete your data once they are no longer needed for the original purpose, once you have withdrawn consent, or where the processing was unlawful. Retention duties take precedence; in that case we restrict the processing instead of deleting.
Restriction (Art. 18 GDPR). Instead of erasure you may require that we merely store your data and make no further use of them — while we check whether an entry is accurate, for instance.
Portability (Art. 20 GDPR). Data you have provided on the basis of consent or for the performance of a contract will, on request, be given to you in a common, machine-readable format, or transmitted directly to another body where technically feasible.
We answer without undue delay and at the latest within one month. Where the matter is extensive we may extend this by two months, and will tell you if we do.
Where we process your data on the basis of a legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object to that processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.
If you object, we will stop processing your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds which override your interests, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Where we process your data for direct marketing, you may object at any time and need give no reasons. After such an objection we will no longer use your data for that purpose.
An informal message to info@laser-store24.de is sufficient.
Where we process data on the basis of your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal takes effect for the future; processing carried out on the basis of the consent up to that point remains lawful.
Withdrawing is as easy as consenting: change your choice in the consent banner, or write to us informally at info@laser-store24.de. You will suffer no disadvantage.
If you believe that our processing of your data infringes the law, you may complain to a data protection supervisory authority. This right exists alongside any other remedy and costs you nothing.

You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to give us personal data. You can read our site without telling us anything about yourself, apart from the technical information your browser transmits in any event.
Without certain details, however, we cannot help you: anyone making an enquiry must at least tell us how to reply. Where a detail is required we say so at that point. If it is not given, the service concerned cannot be provided; no other disadvantage follows.
