The basics
What exactly is a CO₂ laser tube refill — and why does it pay off?
A CO₂ laser tube refill (also called laser tube recharging) is the professional restoration of a worn laser tube. Instead of replacing the entire unit, we re-establish the original gas mixture, inspect the electronics and optics, realign the resonator and verify the result with a calibrated power test. The outcome: near-factory output at a fraction of the cost of a brand-new tube.
Over time, every CO₂ laser tube loses output — the gas mixture degrades, optical surfaces collect contamination, the resonator drifts out of alignment and electrodes show wear. With high-quality industrial laser systems (think Synrad, Iradion, Coherent), the mechanical body and the bulk of the electronics typically remain in excellent condition. That is exactly where our refill service comes in: we extract the maximum remaining service life from your existing tube before you have to spend several thousand euros on a replacement that, in many cases, simply isn't necessary.
